I’m not a skier, but imagine charting a course down your favorite slope. You’re excited about this adventure. But mid-way thru your “run”, there’s suddenly an obstacle in your path. In a split second, you need to catch your breath, assess the situation, make an immediate course correction, and move forward on this new course. To some extent, that’s what the COVID-19 pandemic did to people’s personal lives, businesses, organizations, etc. Organizations must start looking around the corner today– resetting the direction of their skis – to begin planning now for a new way of working in a COVID-19 world. You’ll notice I didn’t say a Post-COVID world because, in reality, who knows when that will be. Charting a course for success in a world filled with uncertainty won’t be easy, and because every organization is different, there are no ready-made answers. This article is meant to be thought-provoking and outline several broad categories for you to think through with your teams.
